Just another thought here about the “confidence.” How about making that an attribute in addition with “Consistency”

It effects everyone, and could be constantly changing depending on their situation. For example McCabe’s “confidence” last year was very low. (5/10) Now he is with a new team with alot less pressure so he should have more “Confidence” in his play (9/10)

Then we would see more players who have great seasons, may sign a big contract and has high expectations, but he can’t handle it so doesn’t perform as well as he should to start with, but may gain more confidence in time.

This would work with the goalies, forwards, defence, rookies, and coaches. I think if this is possible it is something you should include

have you set an estimated timeline for SHS? (Phase1 and 2)
I know that it is subject to minor/major changes depending on what’s going on in your life, but it would be nice to know what you still have to work on or how much and what you have completed.

You’ve made it very clear that this is a side project (unfortuantly for us) but i for one hope your able to get this game out eventually because it sounds fantastic for any hockey sim fan; i’m really looking forward to it. I just hope that you don’t lose interest in it and stop working on it for a year. lol

Ian, your right about the lack of (good/fun) hockey sims out there. Besides EHM there really isn’t any…yet, and there isn’t any hockey sim comparable to SHS.

Work in progress ready when you want it to be I think we get that. The complete lack of a good sim is shown by the interest here

Your reason for making the overall “stars” instead of numbers makes alot of sense.

I came across this site, and i hope that instead of useing Potential “stars” you could incorporate something like this:

I don’t think that the 1-10 rating like on the site would be appropiate for this game but i would love to see the other part. (Future Elite Player, Future First Liner…etc)

Personally I am a big fan of EHM and i enjoyed how you couldn’t see the potential as a number (or stars) instead, like for a real GM, a scouting report.

I know that you have a vision in mind where you’re taking this game but i think that this site could really help.

If you were already aware of this site, i’m sorry for wasting your time; if not then i think this is something that could really help your game.

Keep up the good work. I’m really looking to your project.

Another great intangible would be “arrogant” or “cocky”

My idea of a player labeled as “Arrogant”:
-Puts himself ahead of the team.
-he could be naturally skilled but doesn’t give it his all in practice; is a DISTRACTION.
- True Leaders and other players/coaches may get fed up with his antics so it could effect their game.
- If a player with this label is signed in FA the team and fans might have a negative reaction. Example: Sean Avery signed by Dallas for big money. (rumors) Mike Modano and others were’nt happy.

Are you planning on combining intangibles?

Perhaps this is more of a “Arrogant” “Agitator”

I am wondering will a players “Psychology” affect not only the player but, his linemates and even the entire team? ….now we’re gettin’ somewhere!

So in “God Mode” is it possible to take control of just 1 team? What im interested in doing is creating a new league like the NHL with real or fictional players; take control of 1 team and also expand the league through the years. The more reports in the game the better for me. Im not big on “news” like EHM has but i would like to see alot of various reports and lists of records similar to ootp. Will these be in your game, to a certain extent?

“The Hockey News” has made a magazine full of Hockey Lists and includes some very intereting ones. It would be very cool if some of them could be included in this game; maybe that’s just wishful thinking. Anyways it should be out within the next month and it certainly deserves a look, for anyone who is interested.
